Tailored Transitions understands that those challenged with addiction are a diverse group with various presenting problems. The program is designed to offer services according to the needs of the client and the severity of their symptomatology.
Our highly trained clinicians will assess to determine if clients are suffering from a dual diagnosis (co-occurring disorder) or substance-induced disorders. Substance use can mimic other mental health disorders which result in substance-induced disorders. However, if the symptoms remain present after the physical effects of the substance use have subsided, then the client may be challenged with a dual diagnosis (e.g. chemical dependency & depression). If untreated, this co-occurring mental health condition may negatively impact the recovery process.
In circumstances such as these our agency assigns Master’s level therapists trained in Evidenced Based Practices to implement psychotherapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a therapeutic modality that focuses on assisting individuals change maladaptive thinking patterns into more rational thoughts. As cognitive distortions are replaced, one’s affect and behavior improve.
